Building for the Future
Based in the Channel Islands, Comprop has been developing both commercial and residential properties in Jersey and Guernsey for many years. The "forward thinking" redevelopment at Admiral Park which created two new retail Superstores back in 2001, together with high specification office and residential accommodation has made this area an extremely desirable location for business, the local population and visitors to Guernsey. Further commercial opportunities are still being consdidered for the remainder of this site, which will add potential to this popular location. Following the unanimous approval for the Outline Planning Application, which deals with the remaining land to be developed, we now have a clearer idea of the types of businesses which would be permitted to operate from this site.
Within a five minute walk from Admiral Park was a former warehouse located on the Glategny Esplanade, which has now been redeveloped into a state of the art 61,700 sq ft, four storey offices building with ample adjacent parking. In addition, we have worked clsoely with Guernsey Heritage to sensitively restore the adjacent Listed Building, now known as Bucktrout House, not only does this site have easy access to St Peter Port, it also has the benefit of stunning views across the other Channel Islands and we are delighted that both of these buildings are now fully let.
A Jersey office was established in 2008 to develop a number of high profile sites in the Islands. The first to receive planning approval was the ex-Southampton Hotel which is located in a prime position in St Helier, facing Liberation Square. This is an extremely busy are both during the working day and the evenings.
We have been liaising closely with the planners to recreate architecture which blends the old and the new as a number of our properties and development sites have been registered as buildings of historic importance. We are also striving to provide the efficient use of the space and facilities in order to meet modern office and living requirements in line with environmental guidelines.
In addition, planning approval was granted in September 2014 for Jersey's first large, new build Supermarket for many years, on a brown field, ex brewery site. Work has commenced to find a suitable tenants, see News/Events.
Comprop is ideally placed to invest in the construction industries and general economy of the Channel Islands and firmly believes in "Building for the Future".
